Originally a small fishing port like many others, Rivedoux-Plage became the first oyster farming village and the first resort on the Ile de Ré, long before the bridge was built in 1988.

Even today, Rivedoux-Plage remains a high place of oyster farming, but also fishing on foot that can be practiced at low tide. In addition to its oyster bay, you can also discover its shops and its market, its jetty for walks, as well as its heritage.

La Redoute (built by Vauban in 1674), the tide mill and Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes church are particularly worthy of admiration. First commune of the island of Ré after crossing the bridge, Rivedoux-Plage is the perfect starting point to stay and explore the rest of the island in complete freedom!

The village of Rivedoux Plage offers many summer activities: thanks to the Nautical Center Multi-activities where you can practice the Catamaran, Windsurfing, Habitable, Permis Sea, Swimming, Club Moussaillon
